Supplements

Supplements are feed additives used to increase the amount of a specific nutrient or nutrients in the diet.  Four common types of supplements are protein, vitamin, mineral and a combination of all three.  A protein supplement may be recommended for horses that are lactating or in later stages of pregnancy or for growing horses.  Additional protein may be required if a horse's hay supply is of a low feed value.  If a horse does not receive the correct amount of vitamins in his feed, or does not synthesize the vitamin in his body, he may need vitamin supplementation.  Mineral supplements are more frequently required than vitamin supplements.  Calcium, phosphorus, sodium, chloride, and iodine are the most commonly deficient minerals in a horse's diet.

The following is a list of supplements we carry.

Customer Testimonials:

We phoned early this year [to place an order] because it's the best hay we have had in years.

Lynn M.

Great hay!  I have recommended you to all my friends.

Jodie J.

We have purchased a lot of hay in the past thirty years and this is the best hay we have ever purchased. The consistency from the first bale to the last was the same and we didn’t have one bad bale in the stack. We found Jan and Norm to have integrity and take a great deal of pride in selling a quality product.

Linda & Larry R.

The hay smelled and looked so good, I tasted it!  This is really the best of the best!
